coaching has been an adventure. in the middle of the season our jv boys decided to stop showing up to practice. on average we had about 3 boys at each practice for three weeks (can you guess which ones?!?!) because of this we couldn't really have effective practices and just ended up scrimmaging varsity (which was a joke because everyone was so tired) so, we recommitted everyone and hopefully they will continue to come to all the practices we have left until the championship game.
it has been hard, but very worth it. i am not sure i have worried about something this much in a very long time. i know how good my guys are, they are amazing. and they want to win SO badly, and i want to be able to be positive for them, but at the same time i am constantly worried about what will happen if we lose. all the games up until now don't really matter. now all that matters is winning the next four games we have and taking the championship title! ahh, i want to win so bad! but, it is gonna be a lot of work.
anyways, just thought i would update you. so you can be awaiting a blog more (hopefully two!) about whether we make it to the ship or not, and if we win!
p.s.: this is my team! the jv hawks!! i've put their names under the picture, but their normal names don't do them justice, so before you see the picture i will give the names/nicknames they get called in games (and/or sometimes behind their backs):
travis: travis; trav
carlos: carlos
steven davis: steve, steven hurt
kris: kris; pyrotechnics; mr. clean
tyrel: tyrel; ty; flippidy
andrew: andrew; mcknight (said in english accent); troy

steven dickson: steven; steve; baby daddy

i guess i can also put their nicknames, i'm not sure everyone has one, but i'll put the ones who do:
jeremy: green shoes
brady: secret weapon; silent but deadly
kent: volleyball
patrick: patty; patty cakes
nate: kiwi loco; termi-NATE-or
ladd: laddie (said with scottish accent)
brandon: golden boy
cody: we just call him cody, but we do it with extra amounts of love, he started off on the JV team but was quickly snatched up by layton and was put on the varsity team. so now he is one of our favorites and we care about him just a little extra.

I think it would be nice to be given a clean slate now and then. Hopefully your team will do their best and be glad they participated, regardless of the score at the end of each game. Sometimes losing teaches us more than winning, but winning is a lot more FUN! Wishing you good March luck!
In case you didn't recognize the previous comment as motherly advice I will affirm that it was posted by your mother and not your sister. Jessica would never sound like that. Love ya!
haha, i won't lie, i thought it was a weird comment for jessica. makes much more sense coming from you! <3.
