basketball overview ...

     well, i have been a sufficiently good slacker this semester in keeping you updated with basketball. this coming weekend is the start of the tournament. it has been a long and hard semester. but we have had fun. jv hawks are 3-3. we won our first two games and then lost the next three. last weekend we won our last regular season game putting us at even winning and losing games. i am excited for the tournament, but also extremely nervous. we are 4th seed (there are 5 seeds) so we have an extra game to play, and with single elimination it is going to be a long hard journey to the championship game. i know that we are capable of winning the whole thing. i just hope that our team works as hard as we expect them to.
     coaching has been an adventure. in the middle of the season our jv boys decided to stop showing up to practice. on average we had about 3 boys at each practice for three weeks (can you guess which ones?!?!) because of this we couldn't really have effective practices and just ended up scrimmaging varsity (which was a joke because everyone was so tired) so, we recommitted everyone and hopefully they will continue to come to all the practices we have left until the championship game.
     it has been hard, but very worth it. i am not sure i have worried about something this much in a very long time. i know how good my guys are, they are amazing. and they want to win SO badly, and i want to be able to be positive for them, but at the same time i am constantly worried about what will happen if we lose. all the games up until now don't really matter. now all that matters is winning the next four games we have and taking the championship title! ahh, i want to win so bad! but, it is gonna be a lot of work.
      anyways, just thought i would update you. so you can be awaiting a blog more (hopefully two!) about whether we make it to the ship or not, and if we win!
