for the past couple of semesters lauren and i have discussed how much fun it would be if we coached basketball together. well, this is lauren's last semester and we decided, it was now or never. i was looking at a student update email from school when i saw it, "coaches needed for men's competitive basketball." i took my computer in to lauren and showed it to her. we gave each other a look and then emailed the guy it said to email. the next day we went in for an interview with him (yes, the competitive leagues up here are pretty serious). he talked to us and we talked to him. we were nervous because we have never coached before and we wanted to make sure we thought we could do it, make sure we were comfortable. after talking to him for a while we decided it might be better if we were assistant coaches. the next day after that we went to a training meeting for coaches, took our first response safety test, and met the coach we would be working with, layton. he seems really cool, and is excited to have us for assistant coaches. also, he informed us that he wanted to be able to focus most of his energy on the varsity team, and so he made us the coaches of the jv team, which is crazy, but exciting! i have never done anything with the school before, and definitely never done anything like this before! coaching? who ever thought i would be a coach, or even assistant coach, for a basketball team. insane! so, long story short, you are now looking at a new assistant varsity coach for the men's competitive basketball league at byu-i as well as a new jv coach for the men's competitive basketball league at byu-i!

scripture of the day:
D&C 8:10 Remember that without faith you can do nothing; therefore ask in faith. Trifle not with these things; do not ask for that which you ought not.

You go girl! You are so much fun to follow. Never know what you'll be doing next. Always good things though. Enjoy the games and keep us posted on your teams.
Where's your basketball in that photo? No coach should be without her basketball. I know you've watched enough basketball in your life to know the game. Good luck sharing that knowledge with your team.
thanks! i hope that it all comes back to me. it was fun at our meeting tonight. it was for the people who will be trying out and we got to check them in and give them their number. it was fun. so, we're doing that again tomorrow and then wednesday the tryouts begin! lauren and i keep recruiting people wherever we go. we've already convinced 2 people to come to tryouts. so we shall see!! <3.
