"our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. it is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. we ask ourselves, who am i to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? who are you not to be? you are a child of God. we were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." -marianne williamson
today was the second day of my spring break and i did some pretty exciting things, haha. i woke up and decided i needed to get going on making a cake for elder faulkner who was going to be coming over that night, it was his birthday on the tenth, and we were having a happy (late) birthday "party" for him. so i got the first cake in the oven, and started some laundry. then while the cake was in the oven i ate a krispy kreme doughnut that my brother was kind enough to buy me the day before. then i sat down to watch the wonderful movie, catch me if you can. it was good, but so so long. then after that i started my second cake. then christy came home from work and she worked on cleaning and i started the frosting/filling for the cake. after that we had to go pick up my little brother from school. but we still had not heard from the missionaries, and we were beginning to wonder if they were really coming over. when we got to the seminary building what should we see, but all the missionary cars. hmm, we thought, so we had brother gordon break us in to the rest of the building to see if we could find either elder pettit or elder faulkner. well, we got back there and we saw elder scott in a room meeting with some missionaries, and decided that is probably what everyone was doing, so we went back outside. we came to the decision that we would just wait a while and see if anyone was coming out. so while we waited christy and jayce climbed the tree, it was fun. jayce got stuck for a little while and it was entertaining. some missionaries were trickling out, but we did not see either of the two that we wanted, so we decided to write a note to elder pettit and just leave it on his car. and so we wrote up the note and jayce, our "heavenly messenger" left our note on the car we guessed to be his. then we went to joanns because i needed to get some little icing baggies for the decorating of the cake. after that we headed home, and as we pulled in who should call, but elder pettit, who let us know that he and elder faulkner would be coming to dinner, and he thought we had all discussed six for the time. hmm, i dont know when we would have seen them to discuss such a time, but six worked out wonderfully for us! so, we got to work. christy cleaned and decorated the house. tania came over and played with poky, a little too well, because she squeezed some pee right out of poky! it was funny. i continued to make and frosting and decorate the cake. and caitlyn made the tastee enchiladas! and the bean dip. well, i have such amazing talent, and the cake was wonderful, and it looked like this. well, six came, and went, haha, they were a little late, but thats cool, were used to it. they were there by 6:15 im pretty sure. well, we bought faulkner a really special birthday princess badge to wear, because the elders love their princesses, haha. and so when he showed up we had him put it on. we ate dinner and it was beautiful. haha. then we got to the cake. and we lit all the candles and faulkner was quick to realize that they were magically candles that dont go out the first time. so he blew a few times, but they kept coming back to life, so then he started to put them out with his fingers, then he and pettit decided it would be much cooler if he just put the candles out with his tongue, so he did, but it tasted bad and he stopped and decided to have some apple juice. then one of the ones he had put on his plate because he thought that it was out decided it wasnt ready to be out and started on fire again on his plate, but it was ok, i informed him rather quickly, meanwhile elder pettit was standing under the fire detector and trying to fan all of the smoke away from it so that it wouldnt go off, and it didnt, so then he decided it didnt work because it should have been going off, so he had to test it to make sure it worked, and it did. after that we ate some cake and had the elders try out their really fancy cups that we bought them. and they were singing, and it was hilarious! haha. not becuase they were bad singers, cuz they werent bad, it was just funny. and then we went and elder faulkner played the piano a little and was singing some more, and then elder pettit gave us a very good spiritual message, and they had to be on their way! it was a good second day of spring break. <3.
"And when I think that God, His Son not sparing, sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in. That on the cross my burden gladly bearing He bled and died to take away my sin. Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art!"
